My name is Vanessa. As a healing arts practitioner for the last 14 years, I've attended many trainings and received several licensures and certifications, although, nothing has come close to teaching me more about the way people heal as my clients themselves with whom I've had the utmost privilege to walk beside on their inner journeys.
My approach to healing work is built on the foundation that healing and wellness is not a luxury afforded to only those with enough resources to access it. We live in a system that, by design, profits from not prioritizing our well-being, instead valuing our productivity and capitalizing on our overperformance. This system of value leads to exhaustion, unhappiness, anxiety, and stress which is then compounded for marginalized folx and people with trauma. While my practice has not always been grounded in these ideals, I've come to understand that love and light is not enough to dismantle the ways we've internalized current systems of kyriarchy and that the self-care industry needs a massive overhaul of priorities and accessibility.
In this work it has become important to me to create an intentional, accessible, and inclusive space for healing and education, prioritizing the need for both self-care and community-care as tools for a thriving and resilient community.
In my one-on-one client sessions, I work through a trauma informed lens to offer somatic bodywork, personal ritual, shadow work, and energetic + spiritual healing. The soul tending work we do together focuses on exploring early wounding as a means of re-mything limiting self beliefs to establish good boundaries, energetic hygiene and sovereignty.
Both the practitioner trainings and monthly drop in classes I offer are centered on equity and reciprocity with a focus on ethics and right relationships. I co-teach all my classes with Sharon Arnold, our drop in classes ranging in topics from plant medicine, non-appropriative purification rituals, divination + clairsenses, trauma healing, ancestral reconnection and other energetic hygiene topics. We also teach a 2 year practitioner program that encompasses those topics as well.
I am descendant of multiple Middle Eastern, Mediteranean, Eastern European, and Baltic lineages. As a 4th generation immigrant from Greece, my practice is rooted in exploring and reclaiming the ancient traditions of my Greek heritage in right relationship to the Spirits of this land and its Ancestors.
a trauma informed approach to energetic + spiritual healing
I believe the root of most ailments and dis-associative patterns lie in the imbalances caused by unprocessed traumas and internalized wounds born from the formative experiences of this lifetime, intergenational trauma, internalized systemic and cultural beliefs, and the loss of severed ancestry.
Over time these energetic blockages can crystallize, taking up space in your body and energy field, displacing your Spirit and causing physical and emotional manifestations. The work we do together uses a multi-modality approach to reintegrate your displaced soul part(s) by examining the root source of your wounds verbally, then accessing body sensations, felt in present time and space combined with the use of positive bio-feedback through bodywork and vibrational healing tools such as sound healing and plant medicine to remind your soul that your body is no longer in danger. This creates a natural and unforced invitation, calling to any dis-integrated soul parts to return as they are ready.
